Metro Rail, Airport Connectivity to Mucherla: CM Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday offered several strategic suggestions to improve connectivity routes to the "Future City" at Mucherla, located on the outskirts of the city. He stressed the importance of ensuring smooth transit links between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the upcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR), and directed officials to draft a comprehensive plan for this purpose.
Revanth Reddy was speaking at a key meeting at his residence on Saturday with officials regarding enhancing connectivity and developing infrastructure to support the futuristic urban project.
Officials presented a detailed route map to the CM on the proposed road connectivity from Shamshabad airport to the Future City. Revanth Reddy. The CM stressed the need to develop radial roads within the Future City to facilitate efficient internal transportation.
Revanth Reddy also proposed the creation of a Metro Rail line that would extend from the New High Court being constructed in Rajendranagar to the Future City, with a stop at Shamshabad airport. This line is expected to significantly boost accessibility and ease traffic congestion on the roads.
The CM underlined the importance of coordinated efforts among officials, particularly in land acquisition and resolving related issues concerning the road and metro infrastructure. He directed the officials to expedite the process and prepare full-scale plans and a detailed route map at the earliest.
Revanth Reddy ordered initiation of work on these development projects on a warfooting, signalling the urgency and priority the government is placing on transforming Mucherla into a vibrant, well-connected Future City. Official sources said that the State Cabinet would meet next week to take key decisions on the Fourth City. The state government is likely to appoint an IAS officer as a special officer for faster execution of the Fourth City project.
Revanth Reddy had announced the development of a "Fourth City" on the city outskirts, in addition to the existing tri-cities of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Cyberabad. He described it as the "Future City" of Telangana.
