MP Ramesh Criticises YSRC over Revupolavaram Bridge Delay
Visakhapatnam: CM Ramesh, MP, held an inspection of the Revupolavaram Bridge on the Narsipatnam-Revu Polavaram road at Jalluru village in Kotavuratla mandal on Sunday.
The contractor told him that the firm was waiting for release of Rs.62 lakh the government owed it. The delay in the release of the funds forced them to halt the project midway, he said.
Ramesh highlighted the hardships faced by the local population due to the delay in the bridge's completion. This was worse during the rainy season when the Varahana river overflowed, disrupting travel and daily life for hundreds of residents, he noted.
The MP assured the contractor that he would secure the necessary funds to complete the bridge, either through the MP grant or through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds. If these sources were insufficient, he would cover the costs from his own finances, he said.
The contractor was asked by Ramesh to restart the construction works on Monday and complete the works within a month so that connectivity could be established between the two major cities.
