Anantapur: Tense situation prevailed at Punganur in Tirupati district on Saturday where the TD cadres called for a rally against the YSRC MLA and former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy with a slogan of ‘Peddireddy Go Back’. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy was scheduled to have a visit to the Punganur Assembly segment on Saturday. The YSRC MLA who was at Tirupati planned to visit Punganur and informed his close aides and party cadres in the segment.
The TD cadres, who came to know about the visit of YSRC MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy in the segment, had called for a protest rally from Ambedkar Circle to Indira Circle in Punganur town. The TD, BJP and Jana Sena cadres gathered in a large scale in the rally and shouted slogans against the former minister should go back from Punganur.
As the situation was tense, the YSRC MLA postponed his visit in his Assembly segment reportedly due to advice by the police to avoid untoward incidents.
