Ponnam Likely to Review Crucial Issues on RTC at Secretariat Today

Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has called a meeting at 11 am on Tuesday at the Secretariat, sources said on Monday. Decisions are expected on the Road Transport Authority and the TGRTC. Sources said the meeting was expected to discuss measures to take the RTA operations completely online, as well as initiate permanent registration of vehicles at the showrooms.

The procedure for obtaining driving licences will be made applicant-friendly. Information technology and infrastructure issues will be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting, the sources said.

With regard to the TGSRTC, which has initiated the free-travel-for-women Mahalakshmi scheme, the review will focus on execution of the scheme and the introduction of new buses.
