Vijayawada: In view of the swearing in ceremony of chief minister-designate Nara Chandrababu Naidu on June 12, the reopening of schools after the summer vacations has been extended by one more day. The reopening will be on June 13.
The education department took this decision on a request from the teachers’ unions. They wanted to attend the ceremony on June 12. The education department issued the order on Sunday.
Generally the summer vacation will end and schools reopen on June 12. In some cases summer vacations are extended if the summer heat does not subside.
The process of admissions in schools has started. However, teachers' unions and Telugu Desam MLC AS Ramakrishna handed over a representation to Praveen Prakash, principal secretary to school education department, in this respect, it is noted.
