BJP Tamil Nadu Manifesto Promises Free LPG Cylinders, ₹2,000 Aid for Women
An interest free loan of Rs 10 lakh first generation students, education loan waivers for those unable to pay EMIs due to unemployment

Chennai: Providing the people three LPG cylinders free of cost, for Pongal, Tamil New Year’s Day and Deepavali, was among the salient features of the BJP’s manifesto for the April 23 elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly, which was released on Tuesday with a promise to ensure that development and cultural pride went hand in hand for the prosperous development of the State.
While a monthly assistance of Rs 2000 will be provided to all women heads of the households, who would also receive an one-time payment of Rs 10,000, ‘Thaipoosam’ would be declared as a State festival in honour of Lord Murugan and the lighting of Karthigai Deepam at the Thiruparankundram hilltop would be resumed and protected through the years, it said.
Drawing inspiration from the timeless Tamil concept of Ainthinai from the Sangam Literature, the BJP reimagined development through the lens of nature, culture and human values, the manifesto said, adding that as Tamil Nadu rose through innovation, industry and culture‑driven growth, it would power Bharat’s march towards a developed, resilient and self‑confident Bharatam.
Other promises listed in the manifesto included tackling crimes against women on war-footing through streamlined zero-FIR reporting, victim-witness protection, special fast-track courts for heinous cases including sexual offences, 100% blind-spot-free CCTV in buses/schools/universities, and optimised Nirbhaya Fund utilization and empowering women-led cooperatives, SHGs, and MSMEs with interest free loans up to Rs 50 lakh for manufacturing units and mandated 20 percent government procurement quota.
An interest free loan of Rs 10 lakh first generation students, education loan waivers for those unable to pay EMIs due to unemployment, 3 lakh government jobs, free coaching for toppers, dedicated weekly hour of training for AI and Robotics with practical lab in every block resource centre to aspiring 12th pass students, interest-free loans up to Rs 15 lakh for five years, along with GST-related incentives and subsidies for 2000 first-time youth entrepreneurs were also promised in the manifesto.
The BJP said that it would ensure that 10 cities in Tamil Nadu would make it to the list of top 100 cleanest cities in India and give subsidy of Rs 25,000 to eligible women to buy e-scooters and Tamil folklore and temple traditions were safeguarded through the provision of monthly essentials (camphor, ghee/oil, 60 kg rice, kumkum, manjal, vibhuti), to one-time temple items.
Support to gig workers, overhaul of district hospitals and strengthening of health infrastructure were also among the promises made by the BJP that boost South Tamil Nadu pilgrimage experiences and ensure an exclusive two-hour darshan window per day at all major high-footfall temples in each district reserved solely for the local residents.
