More than half of the companies use data for decision-making

Only 28 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed have strategized their GenAI adoption approach, while 35 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed have launched early proof-of-concepts

Chennai: Around 54 per cent of Indian organizations across different sectors report being data-driven in their decision-making, finds a research by Capgemini. Further, 75 per cent of Indian organizations are investing in analytics tools and platforms.

According to the research, 40 per cent of Indian organizations have made major progress in unlocking value through data monetization in 2024 and 68 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed were able to introduce new products or services in 2024 by harnessing activated data. This was higher than the global share of 65 per cent.

Further, 55 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed were able to introduce new business models in 2024 by harnessing activated data. 63 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed can easily store, retrieve, and analyse data across their value chains, compared to 62 per cent globally.

Among the respondents, 58 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed are expanding their data, business intelligence, and analytics capabilities in the cloud, at par with global data of 60 per cent organizations.

Seventy-five per cent of Indian organizations are investing in analytics tools and platforms compared to 76 per cent globally. However, 75 per cent of technology executives in Indian organizations surveyed cite challenges in identifying and accessing the right datasets.

Only 28 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed have strategized their GenAI adoption approach, while 35 per cent of Indian organizations surveyed have launched early proof-of-concepts.

However, 60 per cent of Indian organizations use generative AI for synthetic data creation, particularly in scenarios requiring privacy and confidentiality and 58 per cent of Indian organizations use generative AI for synthetic data creation, where there is a lack of real-world data like generating data for rare disease drug discovery and on-road scenarios for self-driving vehicles.

About 45 per cent of Indian organizations and global organizations are using generative AI to augment and enrich data by adding features, attributes, or labels to improve data quality and 40 per cent of Indian organizations are using generative AI for implementing validation rules and standardizing data formats for maintaining consistency and uniformity across diverse data sources, and data segmentation.
