Tamil director Mohan held for making objectionable remarks on Palani temple prasadam

Tamil film director Mohan G, known for his controversial films such as Draupathi and Bakasuran, was arrested by the Trichy District Cybercrime Police for allegedly making inflammatory remarks about the sacred Panchamirtham prasadam of Palani temple. His comments, made during interviews and shared on social media, were deemed disrespectful to Hindu traditions, sparking outrage among religious groups and devotees.

Mohan G was apprehended in Chennai on Tuesday morning and is being transferred to Trichy, according to Trichy District Superintendent of Police, Varun Kumar. The director had previously stirred controversy with claims of adulteration in the laddoos offered at Tirumala Tirupati, fueling further backlash.

The arrest has triggered mixed reactions, with many religious organizations and devotees supporting the action, while others have criticized it as unjust.
