Tamil Nadu: 34 bridges to come up in 18 districts
Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin has ordered the construction of 34 bridges in 18 districts across the State at a total cost of Rs 177,84,60,000 crore by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department.
While 24 of the bridges were being built to meet local needs based on petitions received under the Ungal Thoguthiyil Mudhalvar (CM in your constituency) scheme, 5 of them have been envisaged to provide connectivity with growth centres and reduce travel time and 5 others to replace bridges damaged by floods.
The bridges will come up at Karamadai in Coimbatore, Panruti in Cuddalore, Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri, Athoor in Dindigul, Anthiyur in Erode, 2 in Uthangarai and 2 in Veppanapalli in Krishnagiri, Melur in Madurai, 2 in Vedanur in Namakkal, 3 in P N Palayam, Attur, Gangvalli and Ayothiapattinam in Salem, Udhagamandalam in Nilgiris, Kundadam in Tirupur, Madukar in Thanjavur, Srivaikuntam and Vilathikulam in Thoothukudi, Manur in Tirunelveli, 2 in Lalgudi and Manachanallur in Trichy, 3 in Anaicut in Vellore, Marakkanam, Melmalayanur and Vallam in Villupuram and Kariapatti in Virudhunagar.
