Tamil Nadu: Udhay Distributes Pattas to 2,099 Beneficiaries

Chennai: The DMK government enjoyed an overwhelming support among the economically middle and lower classes of people and it was that popularity that helped the DMK-led alliance make a clean sweep of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State and neighboring Union Territory of Puducherry, State Minister for Youth Development Udhayanidhi Stalin said.

Speaking at an event organized at Thiruvottiyur on Tuesday to distribute land pattas to 2,099 beneficiaries under various housing schemes, Stalin said a survey conducted after the Lok Sabha election revealed the support enjoyed by the DMK government.

Be it the regime of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi or that of the present Chief Minister M K Stalin, the government’s policies would aim at providing the basic necessities to the people of the State like food, attire and housing, he said.

Under the present government, 33,766 pattas for house sites under a wide range of schemes under the Tamil Nadu Urban Dwelling Development Board, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Urban Land Tax scheme and other schemes have been issued this year.

Udhaynidhi Stalin recalled the Chief Minister’s announcement on the government dream project, House for All, and said that the pattas were handed to beneficiaries.
