CHENNAI: The Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam has directed its party cadre to avoid erecting banners, posters and placards in public places that could inconvenience the public or obstruct traffic during birthday celebrations and family functions.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters, TVK general secretary and minister N. Anand said the party was founded solely for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu and that party workers must uphold public responsibility in all activities.
The statement said party members should remember that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, who has earned the trust of the people across the state, had entrusted party functionaries with a major responsibility to serve society.
The party instructed cadre not to place banners, placards or paste posters on roads, crowded public areas or any location that may affect traffic movement. It also warned against organising celebrations that inconvenience the public.
“With the approval of the party president, stringent action will be taken against anyone found causing disturbance to the public through banners or celebrations,” the statement said.
