Vijay Drops CM Blazers; Attends Private Event in Traditional Attire
Videos of him visiting the family and their new house have since gone viral on social media
Chennai: Tamil Nadu CM Vijay attended a private function for the first time since assuming office earlier in May. He stepped out of his official duties, for the house warming of his manager Jagadish Palaniswamy on Friday.
He had appeared only in black and white three-piece suits since becoming the CM of Tamil Nadu. During the visit to his close friend Jagadish and his family during their house warming, the Actor-turned-politician dropped his blazers to appear in a more intimate traditional dhoti and off white shirt. Videos of him visiting the family and their new house have since gone viral on social media. Leading cine actor Kathir accompanied CM Vijay during the visit.
Jagadish Palaniswamy has been a close associate to Vijay for over a decade, and is a producer in the Tamil film industry. He had co-produced Vijay’s blockbusters Master and Leo. He had also produced Vijay Sethupathy’s Maharaja and Revolver Rita, starring Keerthy Suresh.

TN’s All-Women Task Force Launch Cancelled, Under Fire
Tamil Nadu CM VIjay’s private visit to his friend’s house was also at the receiving end for criticism, as a government function that was announced on Friday in Chennai was cancelled. It was announced that CM Vijay would inaugurate the event and launch Tamil Nadu’s all-women task force “Singappen Special Force” at the Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, Chennai.
The main opposition party of the state, DMK missed no chance to draw criticism at the newly appointed CM. Alleging the CM prioritizing personal events over government functions, they reminded that the people are watching him.
