Vijay’s Maiden Event as Political Party Leader
Chennai: Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam founder president Vijay will be making his maiden public appearance as a political party leader when he would be releasing a Tamil book, ‘Ellorkumana Thalaivar Ambedkar’ (Ambedkar, a leader for all) published by Tamil media group on Friday, December 6, putting at rest speculations on him planning to share the stage with VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan.
However, the rumours of the meeting paving the way for a tie-up between the TVK and VCK has not been completely quelled as VCK’s new kid on the block, deputy general secretary Adhav Arjuna, will be the keynote speaker with retired High Court judge K Chandru receiving the first copy of the book from Vijay.
Though Vijay had not launched his party when he had given his consent to attend the event when it was planned for an earlier date, the book release was delayed and it was said that Thirumavalvan will also attend the function as he had agreed for it.
But that gave the rumour mills grist to come out with stories of Thirumavalam and Vijay sharing the stage to set the tone for a future tie-up for the 2026 Assembly elections, which did not happen.
Yet Thirumavalavan backing out of the meeting and Adhav Arjuna taking part as a key speaker as the founder of Voice of Commons did not help quell the rumours completely.
