TD leader Varma seeks security
KAKINADA: Pithapuram former MLA and Telugu Desam leader S.V.S.N.Varma has appealed to the district superintendent of police S. Satish Kumar to increase security at counting centres.
He expressed concerns about potential arson during the counting process and alleged that the YSRC is conspiring to defeat Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan in the Pithapuram constituency. Varma also predicted that riots could occur in the Pithapuram and JNTUK area, where counting is taking place.
In response, SP Satish Kumar urged the public not to be fearful of riots during the counting period. He assured that additional forces are being deployed to sensitive and hypersensitive villages and towns. Kumar also dismissed rumours of riots, stating that the district administration has successfully conducted the elections, with only sporadic incidents reported.
