Telangana High Court Reserves Orders in Raheel's Pleas
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday reserved orders in the petition filed by BRS former MLA Shakeel Aamir’s son Raheel Aamir, who requested the court to stay further proceedings in the criminal case against him in the 2022 Jubilee Hills hit and run case. An infant had died in the mishap when am SUV had hit his mother.
Raheel Aamir raised an objection to the trial court in Nampally permitting the Jubilee Hills police to take up further investigation into the road accident case two years later, in 2024.
Jubilee Hills police has arrayed Raheel Aamir name as prime accused in the case and filed a chargesheet, after the incident involving him in the Praja Bhavan rash driving incident of December 2023.
The High Court last week stayed the proceedings before the trial court.
Raheel's counsel Vedula Venkata Ramana questioned the validity of the permission given by the trial court to the police two years after the registration of FIR.
