Hyderabad: Prakash, a job aspirant from Mahabubad in Bayyaram mandal Kothapet district, faced a harrowing experience after being assaulted physically and tortured in Cambodia.
He had contacted a private agency in Hyderabad for job opportunities in Australia but the agency deceived and deported him to Cambodia.
Shockingly, in Cambodia, he was provided with food only once every three days. However, Prakash managed to record a selfie video narrating his traumatic experiences.
Recently, the Visakhapatnam cybercrime police arrested several agents and uncovered a disturbing trend: numerous youths from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were being trafficked to Cambodia and coerced into committing cybercrimes.
These crimes ranged from cryptocurrency scams to FedEx scams, with Cambodia serving as the base of operations.
If any of the youths resisted carrying out these illegal activities, they were subjected to torture, denied food, and physically assaulted.
