Telangana: Official Suspended Amid ₹700 Crore Sheep Distribution Scandal

Hyderabad: Dr Sabavath Ramchander, former managing director of Telangana Sheep and Goat Development Co-operative Federation Limited, has been suspended for his alleged role in the `700 crore sheep distribution scam.

The suspension shall be enforced until all criminal charges are terminated, the government’s order read. The order said that during the suspension, he would not be allowed to leave the headquarters without permission.

The ACB had arrested Ramchander, chief executive officer of the Telangana Live Stock Development Agency, on May 31 in relation to the sheep distribution scam. They also arrested G. Kalyan Kumar, officer on special duty with former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

Ramchander is set to be in judicial remand until June 14, while the ACB is finding leads and questioning the accused in the scam.
