Telangana: Rain Lashes Several Districts

Hyderabad: Hyderabad saw heavy rain on Wednesday evening but for a very short while, causing significant disruption across the city. Key areas such as Malakpet received 9.3 mm of rainfall, followed by LB Nagar with 4.5 mm, and Uppal with 4.3 mm. The downpour led to water-logging and traffic snarls in regions like Yakutpura, Malakpet, and Rajendranagar.

In districts, Jangaon recorded the highest rainfall at 84.3 mm, while districts like Adilabad (52.3 mm) and Siddipet (45.3 mm) experienced over 50 mm of rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next four days, predicting heavy rainfall across the state. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious, especially near waterlogged

areas and avoid taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms.

For Hyderabad, moderate rainfall is expected to continue, providing some respite from the heat. The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TGDPS) reported cumulative average rainfall across various circles in the city with Malakpet, Santosh Nagar and Amberpet seeing the highest figures.

In addition, the forecast for the next few days suggests continued vigilance as strong surface winds and heavy rains are expected to persist across multiple districts, including Adilabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Warangal, among others.
