10 Injured as Bus Crashes into Lorry on NH-65 at Kodad
The accident occurred when a private travel bus hit a lorry from behind, resulting in ten passengers sustaining severe injuries
Nalgonda: At least 10 passengers were injured in a road accident on National Highway No. 65 at Kodad in Suryapet district on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred when a private travel bus hit a lorry from behind, resulting in ten passengers sustaining severe injuries. The bus, belonging to Intercity Travels, was carrying 36 passengers and was travelling to Hyderabad from Eluru in Andhra Pradesh at the time of the accident.
After the accident, panicked passengers broke the windows of the bus and came out. Due to the force of the impact, the bus cabin became wedged into the rear of the lorry.
On receiving information, Kodad police rushed to the spot and extricated the bus cabin using a JCB. Police suspect that drowsy driving by the bus driver was the reason for the accident. The injured persons were shifted to the Government Hospital in Kodad by two ambulances for treatment.
