12 girls fall ill due to home made pickle
Adilabad: Twelve girl students studying SSC at the Tribal Welfare Residential School in Saikunta fell ill in Mancherial town on Wednesday. They were transferred to the government district hospital for treatment and are stable now. Collector Kumar Deepak visited the hospital to enquire about the health status of the affected students.
In a statement issued here, district officials reported that food safety authorities confirmed, after testing food samples, that the girls became ill after consuming pickle (thokku) brought to the hostel from their homes. Investigations are going onto ensure food safety and prevent future incidents.
