Hyderabad: A 12-year-old Class 9 student died of electrocution while attending a wedding at a marriage function hall in King Koti, Narayanguda police said on Saturday. The victim, Kalimatha Deepa, who had gone to the function with her parents K. Badal and Jaya, touch a water cooler while playing with her relatives and was electrocuted.
She was rushed to a private hospital where the doctor declared her dead. Narayanguda police suspect that she might have suffered an electric shock after she came in contact with an uninsulated cable of the water cooler.
Seven Arrested with 114kg Ganja
Hyderabad: The H-NEW and the Kacheguda police arrested seven persons and seized 114 kg ganja from them. Some of the accused had been previously arrested by the AP police. The accused, who brought ganja from AP to the city for sale here, were identified as
Balji Govind, Adigarla Prakash Kumar, Malasala Mohan Rao, Rajana Durga Hari Prasad, Kodi Ramana. The transporters were identified as Lalam Gangadhar and Yethula Gangadhar; all the accused were from Anakapalli district of AP.
Man Arrested for Stealing Rs.3.6L from Car
Hyderabad: The Gadwal town police on Saturday arrested 35-year-old Prasangi for breaking open a car window and stealing Rs.3.6 lakh that was in the vehicle. Police recovered Rs 3.10 lakh cash from him. The accused is a resident of Bitragunta village, Bogolu mandal of Potti Sriramulu-Nellore district. The car belonged to Kurva Siddanna, 70, of Imampur village of Alampur mandal, who had gone to the Gadwal sub-registrar office along with his son Jitender, to register a plot. After completing his work, he had left the money in the car and went for lunch. When he returned, he found the money stolen. Based on a complaint, the police checked CCTV footage and identified Prasangi.
TGMC Busts 10 Unqualified Doctors
Hyderabad: Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) officials busted 10 unqualified doctors practising medicine in inspections conducted in Champapet, Karman Ghat and Saidabad on Saturday.
The inspections were conducted on 20 clinics by a team comprising vice chairman Dr G. Srinivas, members Dr Imran Ali and Dr Rajiv. They found Ayurvedic doctors prescribed allopathic medicines and high dose antibiotic medicines to pregnant women. Besides conducting tests on pregnant women, Ayurvedic doctors were found giving steroids and other allopathic medicines. The TGMC said it had so far helped file 350 FIRs against unqualified doctors.
