13K Fresh Teachers To Improve Edu in Govt Schools: R and B Minister
NALGONDA: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday said 13,000 teachers would be recruited by the state government as part of its efforts to improve quality of education in state-run schools.
Participating in the Prof Jayashankar Badi Bata at Brahmanavellemla in Narketpally mandal, he said education was key to development. Hence, the state government would ensure that quality education was accessible to the poor.
In addition to developing infrastructure and facilities in government schools, vacant teacher posts would be filled. The initiatives were aimed at developing government schools and colleges on par with private institutions in terms of quality of education and facilities, he added.
He said the state government had sanctioned `600 crore for the strengthening of schools. He urged parents to send their wards to government schools, which are no less in providing quality education. No children should be out of schools, he added.
Distribution of uniforms and text books to students started on the first day of the academic year. The state government also provided work to SHG women by involving them in the stitching of uniforms, he added.
He said work on the Udayasamudram lift irrigation scheme, known as the Brahmanavellamla project, would be completed by December, and irrigation facility would be provided to farmers in the area.
District collector Harichandana Dasari said works taken up in Amma Adarsha schools would be completed in two or three days. Everyone has the responsibility to ensure smooth running of government schools in their areas and cooperate with the government authorities for their development.
Earlier, the minister distributed uniforms and text books to students at Zilla Parishad High School in Brahmannavellamla and participated in the ‘akshra abhayasam’ of some students.
Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, superintendent of police Chandana Deepthi and district education officer Bixapathi attended the programme.
