15 k Musi oustees to get Rs 37.5 cr

The state government has issued a Budget release order of Rs 37.5 crore to support 15,000 families relocating from the riverbed as part of the Musi Riverfront Development project.

Hyderabad: The state government has issued a Budget release order of Rs 37.5 crore to support 15,000 families relocating from the riverbed as part of the Musi Riverfront Development project. Each family will receive a dislocation allowance of Rs 25,000.

As per the order, the funds will be transferred to the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd. (MRDCL). The total budget allocation for the scheme in 2024-25 stands at Rs 1,500 crore with Rs 123 crore authorised. With this latest release of Rs 37.5 crore, the remaining available balance for the project is Rs 1,339.5 crore.

The MRDCL managing director will release the funds to the collectors of Rangareddy, Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajigiri who will ensure its disbursement to eligible families upon their relocation.

The municipal administration and urban development department will oversee the allocation to ensure a smooth disbursement.
