17 get lifer for killing Dalit youth

Nalgonda: Special Sessions Court under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on Tuesday sentenced 17 people to life imprisonment for killing of Dalit youth Batta Lingaiah at Ajimpet of Addagudur mandal in Bhongir district in 2017.
According to Rachakonda police, Lingaiah went to jail in 2017 on the charges of killing a person belonging to BC community and came out from the jail after three months.
To take revenge, 17 relatives of the deceased lynched Linagaiah when he was going to participate in Dasara celebrations in the village.
In another murder case, Additional District Judge-III and Family Court judge of Nalgonda D. Durja Prasad sentenced five people to life imprisonment.
It was proved in the court that Soma Sawathi, with the help of her paramour Dubba Pradeep and his friends Kodideti Shiva Kumar, Kumbham Prasad and Chinthapally Nagesh, killed her husband Keshavulu on July 1, 2019.
In another revenge killing case, the Additional District Judge of Bhongir sentenced Shetti Srishailam to life imprisonment for killing a person at Bibinagar on February 18, 2024. Srishaliam developed a misconception against a man that he had created differences between him and his wife. Srishailam hatched a plan and killed him.
