4.14 Lakh Bogus Votes Deleted: Chief Electoral Officer

Hyderabad: Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy on Saturday said that 4.14 lakh bogus votes were deleted during the special summary revision of voter lists.

The gender ratio has shown an improvement, rising from 1,009 in February to 1,012 in the draft roll. The number of young voters aged 18 to 19 had risen from 8.51 lakh to 10.03 lakh.

Speaking to mediapersons, Sudharshan Reddy said that the total number of electors, including service voters, stood at 3,34,26,323 till October 29. Of these, 1,66,16,446 were men, 1,68,07,100 women, and 2,777 belonged to the third gender. The draft roll also included 15,948 service electors and 3,578 overseas electors.

"During the roll revision, applications submitted before October 20, 2024, were processed, resulting in 8,02,805 additions, 4,14,165 deletions, and 5,93,956 corrections of entries from February 8,” Sudharshan Reddy explained.

He said that there were 2,25,462 voters above 85 years of age, and 5,28,085 persons with disabilities (PwDs). The number of third-gender voters had increased from 2,737 to 2,777.
