Nalgonda: Six passengers were injured when a private bus hit a lorry from behind on National Highway 65 near Kodad in Suryapet district early on Sunday, police said.
The Yolo bus was travelling from Kakinada to Hyderabad with 36 passengers when it rammed the lorry ahead of it. Police suspect drowsy driving caused the accident.
After the collision, the passengers got off the bus and ran away fearing it might catch fire. The bus turned across the road, disrupting traffic on the highway for some time.
Kodad police reached the spot and removed the bus with a crane. The injured passengers were shifted to the Government Hospital at Kodad in a 108 ambulance. Police helped the remaining passengers board other buses to continue their journey.
