Suryapet: In a shocking honour killing case, Suryapet police arrested six people, including a 65-year-old woman, for the brutal murder of Vadlakonda Krishna, a Dalit youth who was killed for marrying against the wishes of his wife’s family.
Those arrested include Kotla Buchamma (65), the grandmother, Kotla Saidulu (43), the father, Kotla Naveen (24) & Kotla Vamshi (22), brothers, Bairu Mahesh (30) and Nuvvula Sai Charan (23), associates
According to superintendent of police Sunpreet Singh, Saidulu and his sons orchestrated the murder to punish Krishna for marrying Bhargavi against their will.
They enlisted Mahesh, who tricked Krishna into going to an isolated location on the outskirts of Suryapet. As Krishna rode his scooter, Mahesh, seated behind him, muzzled his throat, while Naveen and Vamshi, who were hiding nearby, joined in and strangled him to death.
After the murder, they informed Saidulu and Buchamma. The killers then transported Krishna’s body to Patha Suryapet, where Buchamma kicked the corpse multiple times, expressing joy over her grandsons' actions.
The body was then taken to Nalgonda, where they sought Sai Charan's help to dispose of it. Failing to find a suitable spot in Kanagal, they eventually dumped the body beside the Musi canal on Pillalamarri Road in Suryapet.
Though Krishna was killed directly by Bhargavi's family, it was revealed that they also offered a Rs 2 crore contract (supari) to Mahesh to execute the killing, with Rs 16 lakh paid in advance.
All six accused have been taken into custody and face charges of murder, conspiracy, and destruction of evidence. Authorities continue to investigate further details of the case.
