HYDERABAD: A poster of the Khairatabad Ganesh idol, showing a likeness of 'Sri Saptamukha Maha Shakti Ganapati' was released by the Sri Ganesh Utsav Committee here on Friday.
Commemorating 70 years of Khairatabad Ganesh celebrations, the height of the eco-friendly idol this time will be 70 feet. Last year, it was around 63 feet tall and weighed up to 50 tonnes.
This year, the Ganesh idol will have seven faces, seven snakes and 14 hands.
The idol of Lord Rama, similar to the one in Ayodhya, will be one of the attractions this year. In addition to the main Ganesh idol, sculptures of Srinivas Kalyanam and Shiva Parvati Kalayan will be prominent additions.
Artisans from Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai are preparing the idol.
