Abki Baar, BJP Sarkar in Telangana: Modi

Modi said the people in Telangana wanted a change, they were tired of Congress not keeping its promises.

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday declared that the BJP’s recent stupendous victory in the West Bengal elections, and the party’s march across the states from Assam to Odisha, and Bengal to Puducherry, was “not an electoral expansion of the party, but a reflection of change in the mindset of the people who are choosing vishwaaswaad over parivarvaad.”

Modi, addressing a massive public meeting in Hyderabad, left none in doubt that Telangana is the party’s crosshairs as its next target for coming to power.

Amidst chants of “Modi Modi”, the Prime Minister said “I see here the enthusiasm of BJP’s historic victories. Every BJP worker in Telangana is saying just one thing,” and continued with “ab ki baar Telangana mein…” and the nearly delirious crowd responded with the chant “Modi sarkar.”

Telangana, he said, was the land that stood with BJP when the party had just two MPs in Parliament, sending one of them from the state. Now, half of MPs from Telangana are from the BJP. I have some confidence in the people of Telangana that next time, we will win here too with a massive majority.”

Modi said the people in Telangana wanted a change, they were tired of Congress not keeping its promises. “The BJP mantra has always been when states develop, the nation develops. We are heading towards Viksit Bharat, and Telangana has a big role to play. And with this goal projects worth thousands of crores of rupees were launched today,” he said.

As part of the push for the state’s development, of the 14 industrial corridors in India, one will now come up in Zaheerabad in the state. “Another example is the textile park in Warangal, one of the seven in the country, where lakhs of youth will get employment opportunities. The textile part will give a huge fillip to cotton farmers, changing their fortunes. The BJP’s focus is on development, creation of employment,” he said.

Launching an attack on Congress, he said that the party was in power in just three states, and in all of them “they promised the sky and the stars to win, then found excuses to not keep them. They did that in Telangana, in Karnataka and in Himachal Pradesh. The primary aim of Congress is not to serve people but to divide the nation.”

The Congress, Modi said, was more Maoist than Left parties, more Kattar than the Muslim League. “In fact, it has become the Muslim League. That is why people call it the MMC — Muslim League, Maovaadi Congress. And that is what it is,” he said.

On BJP’s victory in Bengal, Modi said, this has become the topic of discussion not just in India but the world over. “The reason for this is not just about the win, but how people of Bengal who were in slavery, have freed themselves of it. When TMC was formed, it learnt all the bad things from the Congress. It followed a tanashahi model, shackled the people. Now, after decades, people of Bengal are breathing freely again,” Modi said.
