ABVP seeks rise in Group-II, Group-III posts

Hyderabad: Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday staged protests at the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGSPSC) office in Nampally.

A large number of protesters gathered and demanded an increase in the number of posts under Group II and Group III categories and sought allowance of 100 candidates per post for the Group I main exam.

They urged the Congress government to honour its election promise of creating two lakh jobs within first year. Additionally, they called for the issuance of a District Selection Committee (DSC) notification to fill 25,000 teaching positions.

Chanting slogans against the government, the protesters occupied the road in front of the commission’s premises, resulting in a major traffic disruption in the busy area. The police intervened to clear the obstruction, leading to a confrontation as ABVP members resisted arrest. Eventually, the police managed to physically remove the protestors and transport them away in vehicles.
