ACB Takes Umamaheshwara Rao into Custody for Further Questioning

Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths took Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS), Umaaheshwara Rao into custody from Chanchalguda jail for further questioning on Wednesday.

Rao was arrested on May 22 in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

ACB officials sought 10 days of custody, but the court permitted only 3 days.

It may be recalled that the officials had identified assets worth Rs 3.95 crores. Rao was initially arrested and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
