Achieve Indiramma Rajyam Goals, Ponguleti Urges Registrations Staff
Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Sunday asked all sub-registrars and officials of stamps and registration department to work with honesty and dedication while striving to realise the Indiramma Rajyam goals.
At an interactive session with employees of the stamps and registration department here on Sunday, the minister urged them to provide quality service in a transparent manner and give no scope for complaints from people who approach them. Srinivas Reddy assured the employees that the necessary budgetary requirements towards rents, electricity charges and hire vehicle charges would be cleared soon.
Referring to the need for permanent government buildings for the registration department, Srinivas Reddy said that a three-pronged strategy is being worked out under which all the registration offices will start functioning in government buildings in a couple of years. He directed the officials to adopt the proven practices prevalent in other states. He underscored the need to adopt new technologies in order to extend seamless service to the public.
Stamps and registrations commissioner Buddha Prakash Jyothi gave an overview of the functioning of the department. He said that the registration department’s revenue which was Rs 2,746 crore in 2014 shot up to Rs 14,588 crores last year. He pointed out that the long pending transfer of employees was completed smoothly by the incumbent Congress government.
The minister released the annual report of the department on the occasion.
Senior officials presented their views on revenue mobilisation, the need for having offices in their own buildings and the department’s budget requirements.
