Adibatla Police Arrest Interstate Drug Peddlers; Seize 3.8 kg of Hashish Oil

Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) along with Adibatla police arrested interstate drug peddlers involved in the transportation of hashish oil.

The accused have been identified as Thalapureddy Sudheer, Thalapureddy Demullu, and Kesamshetty Shankar Rao, all natives of Andhra Pradesh. A fourth accused, who supplied the hashish oil, is currently absconding, according to a press release.
Police seized 3.8 kilograms of hashish oil, three mobile phones, all valued at Rs 31,000.
The accused were engaged in the illicit drug trade to earn easy money. They procured hashish oil from Andhra Pradesh with the intention of selling it in Hyderabad at a higher rate.
During a routine visit to Odisha, Sudheer met an individual who introduced him to the illicit drug trade, promising substantial profits. Sudheer, along with his cousin Demullu and friend Shankar Rao, agreed to participate in the illegal trade. The trio bought hashish oil at a low cost and sold it at a significantly higher price in Hyderabad, making substantial profits. They sourced the hashish oil from Allamchettu Hills, located 70 kilometers from their village, and traveled to the outskirts of Hyderabad. After reaching the vicinity of ORR, Bonguluru, they boarded an auto-rickshaw and proceeded to TCS, Adibatla, to hand over the contraband to the receiver.
On the afternoon of August 16, 2024, acting on a tip-off, the SOT Maheshwaram Zone, along with Adibatla police, apprehended the trio and seized 3.8 kilograms of hashish oil and three mobile phones from their possession. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the absconding supplier.

It is learnt that approximate 35 to 40 Kg Ganja is used for making 1 Kg of Hashish Oil, thus the total 3.8 Kgs Hashish Oil consumed approximate 150 Kgs of Ganja. As per the market rate the Hashish Oil costs about 31 Lakhs.

It is an appeal to the people and students that procuring, selling, transportation and consumption of the banned Narcotics substances and drugs is a crime and punishable for imprisonment for a period of 10 years and also death, according to Section 31A of the NDPS Act.
