Adilabad: Low inflows into dams, but flood situation still grim

Adilabad: The flood situation is still grim in Mancherial, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Nirmal and Adilabad districts even though irrigation projects received low inflows compared to previous days on Wednesday.

The Kadam project received 23,284 cusecs of water while the outflow was 31,496 cusecs while Gaddannavagu received 20,330 cusecs of water while its outflow was 27.695 cusecs of water.

Irrigation officials discharged the floodwater downstream from Komaram Bheem and Yellampalli projects. The Sripada Yellampalli project received 4,17,086 cusecs of water while its outflow was 3,61,738 cusecs of water.

Congress leaders visited low-lying areas including Ramnagar, NTR Nagar, Brundavan colony, Hamaliwada, Gandhi Park, Janambhommingar, and bypass road and resolved the problems related to drainage clearances and floodwater blockage in Nalas. They infused confidence among local residents in the Mancherial town.
Nirmal SP Janaki Sharmila and Bhainsa ASP Avinash Kumar inspected the inflows into Gaddannavagu irrigation project. She inquired the irrigation engineers about the flood situation and asked them to inform police if the need arose.
