Adilabad: Police who rushed to a tank in Hanamkonda town on reports that there was a dead body floating in the water, found that the man was alive and was cooling off in the Kovelakunta tank in Reddypuram Colony on Monday. The man wore jeans and no shirt.
It all started when Kakatiya University (KU) police got information that a body was lying in the Kovelakunta tank.
The ‘body’ suddenly stood up when the police tried to drag it out of the water. The police got irritated when the man told them that he was taking rest in the tank with the support of a boulder.
On further questioning, he claimed he was a native of Kavali of Nellore district and worked at a granite company in Kazipet.
He said he was resting in the water to cool himself from the scorching heat. He had got tired from working for long hours. The police were further shocked when he asked them for Rs 50 to go to Kazipet.
