After 3 Years, Telangana Govt Forms Nizamabad Market Panel

Nizamabad:After a gap of three years, a new committee was nominated for Nizamabad agriculture market yard. Nizamabad is the biggest turmeric market in the country after Sangli in Maharashtra and Erode in Tamil Nadu. Farmers hope that the new market committee will regulate the administration of the market yard benefitting them.

Turmeric, maize, paddy, amchur and other agriculture produces were brought to the market yard for sales. Farmers from Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagtial, Nirmal and Medak districts brought their produces for better prices to Nizamabad market yard.

The government nominated Muppa Ganga Reddy will be the chairman of the Nizamabad market committee. Nizamabad mayor, agriculture and marketing department officials will also be in the market committee. Turmeric from Nizamabad market reaches nook and corner of the country and is also exported to Gulf countries.

Farmers are hopeful that the new committee will improve the basic amenities for them in the market yard. During the BRS government, the revenue of Nizamabad market yard shifted to other market committees in the state. As a result, the developmental works and welfare programmes were adversely affected.

The newly-appointed Nizamabad market committee chairman Muppa Ganga Reddy met TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud and thanked him for the appointment.
