After long wait, CM's promise to issue new ration cards hailed by poor

After a gap of 10 years, people in Telangana will get new ration cards. These cards will provide subsidized rice and other essential commodities. The previous BRS government did not allow deletions and additions in ration cards. The people suffered a lot.

The number of families keeps increasing in rural and urban areas. Newly married couples and children were also unable to get ration benefits.

The Mee Seva centres refused to receive applications for new ration cards these years. Since many poor families did not have ration cards, they also failed to avail the benefits of other government schemes linked to the ration cards.

The former BRS government, in a strategic move, had announced the issue of new ration cards during the Huzurabad, Munugode byelections, with a view to winning the votes there. The new cards were issued only to those in these assembly constituencies.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that new ration cards would soon be issued and essential commodities would also be supplied through fair price shops across the state.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Ch Sailoo, petty vendor of Ambedkar colony here, said “We are waiting for a long time to apply for the new ration cards. Prices of rice and other essential commodities are skyrocketing in the open market.”

When contacted for details, civil supplies officials said they have not received guidelines from the state government vis-a-vis the promised issue of new ration cards.


PROCEDURE
First Step: Application form is available at MeeSeva centres and on the official website of MeeSeva.

Second Step: Click on MeeSeva Service Forms, there you get different types of forms of different departments. You can go to this page through the link:

Third Step: On this page, for downloading the application form, click on the Civil Supplies Department option. There you get different types of applications. Click on the Application for New Food Security Card

Fourth Step: After downloading the application form, take a printout.

Fifth Step: Fill all the following necessary information in the application form.

Sixth Step: Attach all documents and submit the application form with the prescribed fee. Take an acknowledge slip from MeeSeva centre
