Hyderabad: A day after the arrest of Thirumalagiri Sub-Inspector (SI) Vukkurthy Suresh in a bribe case, Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught another SI posted at Lingampet police station in a bribe case.
Kandi Sudhakar, SI of Lingampet police station in Yellareddy Circle in Kamareddy district, was caught red-handed when he allegedly demanded and accepted bribe of Rs.12,500 from a complainant to do an official favour not to implicate as accused in the cheating and criminal intimidation case registered at the police station.
The ACB officials recovered a bribe amount of Rs.12,500 from the possession of the SI at Rukmini Chamber crossroads in Nizamabad while travelling in a car. The SI’s right hand fingers, which came in contact with the bribe amount, yielded positive results in the chemical test.
Sudhakar performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, officials said. On Tuesday, the ACB nabbed Thirumalagiri SI Suresh in a bribe case in Suryapet district.
In a separate case, Dr. Rathod Ramesh, an Assistant Veterinary Surgeon of Udayanayak thanda in Utnoor mandal in Adilabad district, was caught red-handed at Veterinary Hospital, Shyampur, when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.15,000 from the complainant to issue non-payment certificates for October and November-2023 pertaining to the salary of complainant’s father
The complainant’s father was a veterinary assistant at the same hospital. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Ramesh at his instance. On September 24, Ramesh already demanded and received Rs.3000 as bribe from the complainant to issue the last pay certificate pertaining to the complainant’s father in connection with his transfer.
