Air Force show enthralls Hyderabadis

Hyderabad: As part of the Congress government’s celebrations to mark its one year in power, the Indian Air Force performed an air show at Hussainsagar on Friday.

The event featured the renowned the Surya Kiran, which captivated the audience with a display of stunning aerial manoeuvres.

The 30-minute show demonstrated the skill of the Surya Kiran’s 12 pilots, flying nine Hawk Mk 132 aircraft in intricate formations. The manoeuvres included loops, rolls, crosses and inverted flying. The team also formed patterns such as the diamond, helical (DNA) structures and the ‘Surya Kiran burst’.

Spectators cheered for the pilots, recorded videos of the performances and enjoyed the patriotic music played by the Air Force team.

A spectator, P. Sunil, described the show as a "a feast for the eyes.” A stall set up by the Indian Air Force near the statue of Baktha Ramadasu was another attraction of the day.

Commuters at Tank Bund were seen stopping to watch the air show. K. Vishwak, who brought his children to the event, said he wanted them to learn about the Indian Air Force.

Manish Rao, an aviation enthusiast, attended the show to witness the aerobatic feats, while Bharathi, another spectator, stopped after hearing announcements about the air show to experience it.

Despite challenges posed by the presence of birds in the area, the Air Force ensured the show continued seamlessly by deploying measures to clear the birds from the venue. The IAF team announced that the air show would be held again on December 8 at Hussainsagar between 3 and 5 pm.
