Allocate Rs 2 cr to each police station in Hyderabad: Raja Singh
Hyderabad: BJP MLA T. Raja Singh urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to upgrade and replace non-functional CCTV cameras for enhanced security. In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Raja Singh said many CCTV cameras installed at junctions, colonies and temples in the past, had stopped working, leaving crucial areas vulnerable to crime.
CCTV cameras contributed significantly to maintaining public safety, as they allowed the law enforcement agencies to act swiftly to identify and apprehend offenders, he said. The lapse in surveillance has led to an alarming increase in criminal activities, including frequent attacks on temples and other sensitive locations, he said.
He asked the Chief Minister to allocate Rs 2 crore for each police station. He also urged the government to make use of the Malakpet government quarters land and Quli Qutub Shah stadium for community use.
