Allu Arjun was UT prisoner 7697; Spent 12 hours in Chanchalguda with 3 inmates

Hyderabad: The Prisons and Correctional Services department has allocated undertrial prisoner number 7697 to the popular film actor Allu Arjun after he was remanded to judicial custody on Friday evening and sent to Chanchalguda prison in connection with the stampede incident at Sandhya 70 MM theatre in Chikkadpally on December 4.

A 39-year-old woman Revathi, a resident of Disulkhnagar died in the incident while her son Sri Tej, 9, is still undergoing treatment in a corporate hospital. The actor spent 12 hours in a cell in Manjeera barrack along with three other remand prisoners. After he entered the prison around 5.15 pm on Friday, he was lodged in a cell in Manjeera barrack under continuous surveillance as several notorious criminals were already lodged in other cells.

Three more inmates were also present in the same cell where Allu Arjun was lodged, sources said. Minutes after he entered the prison, the prison's officials offered him a bed-sheet and blanket and offered food from the canteen at the prison. Security has been tightened at the Chanchalguda prison as Allu Arjun was lodged in the prison.

After completing the formalities, the officials released him at 5.20 am on Saturday as he got interim bail from the High Court. From Chanchalguda prison, he went to Geeta Arts office and from there to his residence in Banjara Hills.

A few minutes after he reached home, eminent personalities came to his house to express solidarity to him. Police sources said Allu Arun was accused number 11 in the stampede case.
