Amberpet Flyover Opens for Temporary Traffic
The 1.661-km, four-lane flyover connects Shalem Church, Golnaka, and Mukaram Hotel, Amberpet

Hyderabad: In a major relief to commuters, temporary vehicular movement is allowed on Amberpet flyover giving a solution to years long traffic woes. The flyover to be officially inaugurated after the service road works gets completed.
On Tuesday, Union minister G. Kishan Reddy inspected the flyover and discussed the details with officials and instructed them to allow vehicles on flyover.
With this decision commuters passing through Amberpet can get a relief from traffic conjestions. However, service road works under the flyover are still pending due to pending land acquisitions and presence of religious structures. With the poor road conditions due to incomplete works people faces severe traffic problems in the area.
“GHMC has acquired 277 properties for the flyover, while six are pending with the court issues, The work was delayed under the flyover due to this,” said a roads and building official.
The 1.661-km, four-lane flyover connects Shalem Church, Golnaka, and Mukaram Hotel, Amberpet. The flyover is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time for commuters entering city from Warangal highway.
Kishan Reddy stated “When I was MP from Amberpet, I requested Central to construct the flyover. Because of religious structures on the roadside, road widening was not possible. He asked the government to resolve issues with the remaining six properties and hand them over to complete the construction work.
Local Resident M. Koteswara Rao said, “This will be a relief for people travelling towards Kacheguda, MGBS and Warangal. The traffic congestions during office hours was very high and the incomplete service roads made commuting very difficult.”
“The work was causing severe problems for four years. Real relief will come only when the service roads are opened to traffic,” said Amberpet resident Y. Ajay.
