Annaram Dargah Urs Begins on Grand Scale in Warangal
Warangal: The three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Yakubshavali Dargah at Annaram village in Parvathagiri mandal, Warangal district, started on Thursday with grandeur under the supervision of the Waqf Board.
Annaram Sharif Dargah, a symbol of religious harmony, draws thousands of devotees not only from Warangal but also from neighbouring districts. Devotees gather at the shrine to seek blessings and believe their prayers are answered at this sacred site. Along with Annaram Sharif Dargah, other revered shrines in the area include the Dargahs of Yakub Baba, Gouse Pasha, Mahaboobima, Boleshawali, and Gunshawali.
The festivities, held annually from January 16 to 18, feature traditional rituals. On the first day, devotees offer sandalwood, followed by Diya Aradhana (lamp worship) and an Annadanam programme on January 17. The celebrations end on January 18 with the recitation of Khatmul Quran.
To ensure smooth conduct, the government sanctioned Rs 8.5 lakh through the Waqf Board for necessary arrangements. The shrine authorities have provided facilities for devotees, while the police have implemented tight security measures to prevent untoward incidents.
The RTC department has also introduced special bus services from Warangal, Hanamkonda, Thorrur, Narsampet, and Khammam depots to accommodate the heavy influx of devotees attending the event.
