Answer Booklet Scandal in KU
Warangal: Authorities of the Kakatiya University (KU) on Saturday lodged a complaint at KU police station, alleging a scam in evaluation of answer sheets. Some daily wage workers allegedly handed over answer booklets to students and after answers were filled in, the booklets were placed in the bundles.
The incident that took place a few days back came to light after KU authorities checked the CCTV footage in Hanamkonda on Saturday.
Three daily-wage workers, Madai Sunil, Gaddam Rana Prathap and Nasam Sridhar, after an understanding with some students, handed over the answer booklets to students for considerations of `5,000 to `10,000 for each paper.
When additional controller Dr Thirumala Devi observed the CCTV footage, she noticed that workers carrying answer booklets outside and placing them in the bundles. She brought the issue to the notice of the controller of examination Dr S. Narasimha Chary and lodged a complaint at KU police station.
The police interrogated three labourers who revealed that they handed over 50 answer booklets to various students who in turn paid them money. The police are also conducting an inquiry to find out if any officials of the university and students are involved in the case.
