Anudeep Durishetty orders magisterial probe into Chanchalguda prisoner’s death

Hyderabad: Hyderabad district Collector Anudeep Durishetty has appointed the Special Executive Magistrate to conduct the magisterial enquiry into the death of 36-year-old convict T Narsimha Chary. Chary was serving a sentence at Chanchalguda prison.
Durishetty issued orders after the Deputy Registrar of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in New Delhi informed that it received intimation regarding the custodial death of convict prisoner Chary.
The G.O.Ms 51 stipulates that in case of death of an undertrial prisoner or one serving sentence, even in a hospital, the inquest, postmortem and magisterial inquiry has to be done.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
