Telangana: Anurag University Moves High Court Over Demolition Fears

Hyderabad: Apprehending that the HYDRAA would demolish its buildings, Anurag University, managed by BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and his family members, approached the Telangana High Court on Saturday evening in the form of house motion petition, seeking directions to restrain the agency from entering its premises.

Justice T. Vinod Kumar heard the house motion petition on late hours of Saturday evening and directed the government agencies and HYDRAA to follow due process, if the university’s structures were built illegally and in the full tank level or buffer zone.

Further, the court also directed the authorities to peruse the records submitted by the petitioner university.

Anurag University , Gayatri Educational and Cultural Trust, Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences, under the control of family members of Rajeshwar Reddy, told the High Court that HYDRAA officials were entering the premises in Korremula village of Ghatkesar Mandal, laid out on 17 acres and 21 guntas in parts of Survey No.s 813/e, 813/ee, and 813/e, 813/aa/1, 797/aa/2 and 796 under the guise of that the structures were built in the FTL and buffer zone.

Petitioner`s counsel submitted to the court that the trust had secured approvals, permissions, and no-objection certificates (NOCs) from the relevant authorities, including clearances related to FTL limits.
