AP Governor Abdul Nazeer Addresses Joint Assembly Session

AP Finance Minister Keshav to present budget on Feb. 28

Vijayawada: Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer has said Andhra Pradesh is aiming at a total transformation of life through Artificial Intelligence. “We are revolutionizing governance, law enforcement and public services for unprecedented efficiency and transparency,” Naseer said in an address of the state assembly on Monday.

“Empowered by cutting-edge innovation and technological advancements, Andhra Pradesh is envisioning to achieve seamless integration of Deep Tech in all walks of life. In the past eight months, my government has taken significant strides in getting the state back on track from the previous misrule and misgovernance towards the path of development through an accountable and good governance.”
The governor’s address marked the start of the budget session of the AP legislature.
He said, “We have revived 74 out of 93 centrally sponsored schemes which were stopped by the previous regime, by clearing liabilities of `9,371 crore. This has triggered further releases of funds from the central government for current and future years. To revive the economic activity and rebuild confidence in Brand Andhra Pradesh, we have cleared bills of `10,125 crore relating to irrigation, roads and other works.”
“We have strengthened the local governance by releasing long pending liabilities of `2,488 crore of Finance Commission grants,” the governor said and added, “As promised by NDA in the recent assembly elections to rebuild the state of AP, capital Amaravati and Polavaram irrigation projects have been brought back on to the track.”

The governor said, “The revival of the steel plant and the formation of the railway zone are a testament to our commitment to the people of Andhra Pradesh. We have laid a strong foundation by launching 22 new policies that will drive sustained growth and prosperity.”

Justice Nazeer said, “I am proud to share that our efforts are already showing results. We are attracting global giants like Google, ArcelorMittal Steel Company, Tata Power, Greenko Group, BPCL, TCS, and others with massive investments. To date, investors have pledged investments of `6.5 lakh crore, with an employment potential of over 4 lakh jobs.”

As per the first advance estimates for 2024-25, Andhra Pradesh’s economy has expanded to `16 lakh crore, up from `14.22 lakh crore last year—an impressive nominal growth rate of 12.94 per cent. Our per capita income has also increased to `2.68 lakh, up from `2.37 lakh the previous year. This progress is powered by strong performances across all key sectors. Agriculture and allied activities have grown at 15.86 per cent, industries at 6.71 per cent, and services at 11.70 per cent.”

The governor stated, “Andhra Pradesh is leading another revolution—from IT to AI—harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence to shape the future of governance, industry and economic growth.”

“My government has envisioned Padi Sutralu - ten guiding principles that define our vision for a prosperous future of Swarna Andhra @2047. Our government is committed to the overall socio-economic development of 27.39 lakh Scheduled Tribes, including 4.93 lakh Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.”

Justice Nazeer added, “My government is leading digital transformation with deep tech in all walks of life, by enhancing governance, service delivery, and resource management. AI, blockchain, drones, and internet of things (IoT) are driving efficiency and transparency in administrative responsiveness. Deep tech is complementing the physical infrastructure of the government to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.”
