Apologise to people of for govt's failures, KTR tells Rahul
Hyderabad: The BRS, declaring that the state Congress had failed to keep its promises to the people, has demanded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the people. With Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expected to arrive in Hyderabad for a brief stopover visit on Tuesday, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, on Monday, challenged the Congress leader to respond and provide answers to several questions that are being asked by the people, in addition to tendering an apology.
In an open letter to Rahul Gandhi, Rao accused the Congress government of destroying everything that Telangana had achieved in 10 years under the BRS. “Where have you been hiding in the last one year? And when you come, don’t just go to Gandhi Bhavan (the state Congress party headquarters) but go out and meet people. Do you have the courage to do so?” Rao asked.
Rahul Gandhi needs to apologise to the people for “cheating them over the six guarantees and the 420 assurances made before the elections. Your party’s government has pushed people onto the streets. Why are you silent when your party's Chief Minister is torturing people? If you have the courage, then go visit the HYDRAA and Musi project victims,” Rao said in his letter.
Rama Rao further sought an explanation from Rahul Gandhi on why he was silent when the Chief Minister was trampling on Constitutional principles and values encouraging defections and why he was extending support to his party’s state leadership on this issue. All claims, whether on keeping promises to farmers, or the unemployed, are being made on social media posts while the reality is that nothing is being done on these fronts, Rao said and demanded that Rahul answer these questions.
