Arogyasri will get required funds, assures Bhatti

Telangana government to use central funds to maximum benefits for people

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the State Budget would prioritise the medical and health department, a priority sector for the poor and middle class. He said the Aarogyasri scheme will be allotted sufficient funds to ensure better medical services for the state's underprivileged population.

Speaking at the pre-budget meeting of the medical, health, science, and technology department at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Bhatti, along with health minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha, outlined several proposals to officials.

The ministers highlighted that the pharma, food safety, and medical education sectors have been neglected over the past decade. Both the ministers assured that the Congress government would focus on these three areas, with plans for modernisation of the drug and food safety departments.

The ministers also announced that the construction of new medical colleges and hospitals will be completed within the next year, enhancing healthcare infrastructure across the state.

They urged officials to make greater use of centrally-sponsored schemes to maximise available resources. They also unveiled plans to establish science and technology planetariums in district headquarters to promote scientific awareness and education.
