Ashadam Shakambari festivities begin at Bhadrakali temple
Warangal: The 15-day Ashadam Shakambari festivities have begun on a religious note at the famed Sri Bhadrakali Devi temple in Hanamkonda on Saturday.
Warangal West MLA Naini Rajendar Reddy of Congress launched the festivities by lighting the lamp followed by special rituals of ‘Sahasra Kalabhishekam’, Ganapathi Puja and Purvanga Veedi performed by chief priest Bhadrakali Sheshu performing in the early hours.
During the festivities, the temple’s presiding deity Sri Bhadrakali Devi will give darshan to devotees in various forms of goddesses decorated with fruits, flowers, vegetables and other items.
After completing the prayers on the first day, the temple authorities allowed devotees to have darshan of the presiding deity. The temple witnessed a huge rush of devotees on the first day.
For the convenience of devotees who are expected in thousands, the temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festivities, which will conclude on full moon day (pournima) falls on July 21 special prayers and the deity will give darshan in the form of ‘Sampuran Shakambari’ decorated with various fruits.
